Geek movie! Geek movie!

I know I'm a 'tard, but Joel Spoelsky just sent an email out about Aardvark'd - a documentary about four interns at a software company given the onus to "build some code" over the course of a summer - and I'm all excited about it. You just really never see movies about my industry, perhaps because our triumphs are subtle ones that are difficult to promote in a medium that thrives on car chases and big explosions. At any rate, I just watched the trailer, and now I want to see the movie.

I get excited about people making software. It's embarassing.

I like it when people are passionate about things. Who am I to judge what anyone else should or shouldn't be passionate about?

Still trying to apply this to English football fans/followers esp. those at my work, mind.

Code Rush...

You might check out 'Code Rush' It was a PBS documentary something or other about the weeks leading up to Netscape's open sourcing of its browser. Lots of real-world geekery there (and if you look hard enough, you might catch a glimpse of my back) :-)

Did you ever see Startup.com?

I did, actually, but it was more about things being screwed up than about the good stuff about software development.

Oo, I didn't know Joel had gone into the movie business. Cool.

Not quite sure whether it's worth the hassle of importing DVDs though.
