It's looking like an unstoppable week for the silver screen. Tonight, the Cinerama is hosting a fundraiser for Intiman Theater, playing the HBO version of "Angels in America," a VERY exciting adaptation with top notch actors (Meryl Streep and Robert DeNiro) which I'd much rather watch at the Cinerama than on a burned-for-me DVD (since I don't have cable). For the rest of the week, there are three movies playing that I want to see: Touchez Pas au Grisbi (coke and cheap sex in 50s Paris!), Matchstick Men, and American Splendor. The last two have just made it to the Crest, but they've been on my list since September; the first is a revival print, and since I enjoyed Pepe Le Moko so much last year I'm eager to see another film in the genre (of French film noir - with gangsters instead of detectives). It's going to be hard to find time to see everything, though. I sure hope the Crest movies go for a second week, but I'm sure I'll need to see Touchez Pas this week or miss out.
