Plans for tonight; breakfast

I won't be going Ceili dancing tonight due to total lack of uptake from the Flist. Instead, I think
wechsler and I are going to see Beowulf in 3D at the Imax. Because, you know, whatever. (Evil rules? Is that the tag line?)
I tried this morning to make Western Style Hashbrowns again. This delicacy, consisting of fried, grated potatoes covered with a layer of hot green chiles and then cheese - which has just been broiled, was (and is) served in Albuqueque's Frontier restaurant. I've been trying to make it for years but have failed miserably, due in part to a lack of good green chiles, but then because I lack the ability to make hash browns. I'm not sure how successful today's were, in the big picture, but the potatoes are cooked all of the way through and are crispy on top, so it's at least edible. It's also spicy as hell and making my nose run.
It was hard getting motivated to get out of bed this morning. I woke up at 7 AM and could hear the wind whistling outside my building. Mmm, there's some nice weather for you! So much nicer to stay in bed. But, as I've often said, waking up always feels like being sick to me. The other thing is that I don't really have anything to do at work today, other than go to Snazz Szechuan for lunch with my boss's boss, and since my boss is gone, who would really notice or care that I wasn't there? But still, off I go, because I'm "responsible" and I'm clearly not sick, even though I need a kleenex right now. And due to cooking a fancy breakfast I'm now running quite a bit later than I should be. Oh, well, off I go ...
