I like that by coming in on the later bus today I was able to get a Top Pot strawberry glazed donuts from one of my coworkers. It just kind of gets the day off to a good start, you know?

I'm hoping I'll find some pictures from the fashion show somewhere ... if you see any, can you point me in the right direction? I'll leave this post public so the other grrlz who were there last night but aren't on my Flist can comment if they see anything.

I got home late last night, at 11:30 - skipped the Trinity club thing as 1) it was already late and 2) er, uh, lack of cash in the purse. Unfortunately I was so ramped up I didn't get to sleep until 12:30 - typical! But poor [livejournal.com profile] shadowdaddy didn't get home until even after I'd went to bed - he hit the sack at 1:30. It's working out to be a rough week for him, but it sure was easy to convince him to sleep in this morning.

Maureen McDowd has a great story up on the New York Times right now ... "What's a Modern Girl to Do?" (I've put the article up here in case you're terminally allergic to registering for the Times.) Basically she said - were feminists focusing on the right issues (social equality versus financial equality)? What does it mean that young women today say they're planning on being highly educated and then just letting a man take care of them? Why is it that the better educated/employed a woman is, the less likely she is to be married? Do men really need to feel like they're doing the pursuing? Why wouldn't men want ambitious, independent wives?

I really enjoyed this article and would welcome some discussion of it among my varied, intelligent friends. (As a side note, I liked her fantasy of what life as a grownup would be like - "wearing a gold lamé gown cut on the bias, strolling along Fifth Avenue with my pet leopard." I'd like to do that today.)

Okay, I'm really tired from staying out too late AND it's grey and gloomy and wet outside AND ...

I really didn't need to eat all of that candy corn. Nope. *bleah*
