Back awake after my 5 AM shift and we're off to breakfast. Tonight: Seattle Pro Musica, my friend Cathy's group, with [livejournal.com profile] shadowdaddy and my sister in law.

I knew I was going to be dragging along today, but here it's ten til four and really, what I want to do is take a second nap before I go out.

After breakfast at Linda's (I had the Denver browns, to which the chef added, at my request, some poblano pepper, which gave me the hiccups), we took advantage of the weather to walk around Capitol Hill a bit. I decided to stop in Chicken Soup Brigade and look for my missing Faulkner books there (I am "missing" having them in my collection - I need to read them to satisfy my New Year's resolution). Of course, I found a million other books, which I whittled down to a pile that includedIam McEwan's Amsterdam, a book by Jeanette Winterson that I hadn't read, and George R.R. Martin's Game of Thrones, which was the inspiration for the game I played last Saturday (I suspect I'll find it ponderous, but that I'll be able to unload it easily at Twice Sold Tales if needed). I also picked up some more fun novels, including "The Bottoming Book," which I would only expect to see at that particular bookstore. I was also surprised to see a ton of books by Stephen Greeland, which looked a wee bit dull but like good possibilities for turning around on Amazon.
