I was going to add my picks for best top six Oscar categories last night, but got caught up in trip planning ... wait, I lie, I was reading a trashy science fiction book and loooving it after I got back from my EMG board meeting. It's late, but here's what I might have written last night. ) Now I'm going to rush over to some real newspaper and see who actually made it in.

I brought in a CD of Indian movie musicals from the 60s today and my officemate is singing along with all of the songs. It's so cute!

It's hard to really give a rat's ass at work today, even though I managed a brief moment of outrage when a project manager told me that my concerns about his project's impacts on my testing were "crazy talk." Them's fighting words, right? But then I went back to my office and decided that this company's kayak tours were going to be perfect, and my boss and I went out for a walk in the thin winter sunshine (which I saw both last night as I ran for my bus and this morning on my way in, meaning the days are truly getting longer - hurray!), and now I'm all mellow and trying to figure out what my motivation is supposed to be for doing ANY work in the next three hours. I've already spent an hour cruising the New York Times ... how much more faking do I have left in me?

I've been up packing for a while and I'm mostly ready to go to bed, but first I wanted to write about Chicago, which we saw tonight at the Paramount. Read more... )
At any rate, I'll try to update from La Paz, but basically it's tacos, tequila, and toasty temperatures for me for the next five days (plus night after night of Puerto Rico), so don't expect to hear much.
