While Tablet is taking a break

One nice thing about the last article I did for Tablet (on the Erotic Art Show) was getting to talk to all of the great women who are planning it. Most fun was Cleo Petra of BurningHearts Burlesque. We really hit it off, and she asked me if I would be interested in writing their press releases. Now they've got a new show coming up, and I've got work to do! I'm pretty excited - not just to get into the shows free, but to work with a group that I think is so fun. Who knows, could the days when I don a sequined dress and sing "Shave 'em Dry" be far away now?

Also, she just sent me a link to a great article about burlesque performers in Vancouver - it looks like a fun read.

Working hard today

I am so busy at work today I'm worried I'm going to short circuit. I'm finding out how very much I don't know about what I don't know in addition to the things I know I don't know. Every new issue gives me a minor heart attack.

In addition it's the first night of my Japanese class. Today, I say "Nihongo wakarimasen." Soon, I will change it to "wakarimasu" - I do understand Japanese! (Of course I might be saying "I don't understand Japan, or Japanese people ..." for all I know.) I hope there's still some room in my head to pack this all in.
