Chasing the blues away
Nov. 8th, 2002 12:09 amTried to forget my recent failure while at the Mandarin Gate tonight. Had the advantage of having Sleen and Celeste, who I am finding more charming every time I see her, also there. (Do those McCleans just have the monopoly on charisma or what? I've never been able to draw people to me like that.)
Anyway, we were cranking the songs out quickly the first hour, but then a bunch of people showed up and suddenly there was a seventeen person rotation. It was a damn long wait for that third song!
But here they are:
1. Band on the Run (not as exciting as I thought it would be)
2. I Fall to Pieces (still don't sound good singing that, I can't handle the big shifts from "to" to "pieces")
3. I went out in a blaze of glory with "Bohemian Rhapsody," where I used the mexican hat and head-banging to try to cover up for my inability to use vibrato. I got a good loud cheer from the bar, so I did something right!
We came home at 11:30, after last night's indulgence I thought it would be good for the boy to catch a good night's sleep.
